Are you interested in becoming a Professional Supervisor in either the Pastoral or Clinical field?

St Francis Theological College, Brisbane, in partnership with St Mark's National Theological Centre Canberra offers this nationally recognised course for the training of Professional Supervisors in Brisbane.

Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision
(Pastoral/Clinical)

(10706NAT - A Nationally Registered Training Course)

Enabling you to empower others

A caring supervisory relationship can transform the challenge in providing pastoral care into opportunities for a flourishing professional life. This course trains mid-career carers to offer that supervisory relationship to others. A well-trained supervisor listens carefully to supervisees, enables them to reflect upon their experiences of care, and empowers the supervisee to grow as a professional and as a person.

Our 10706NAT Graduate Certificate Professional Supervision (Clinical) (Pastoral) course is unique, and has been developed to meet the needs of people both in pastoral ministry and professional counselling. The Australian community now expects better standards of accountability for those in caring roles. Our structured and caring approach to competent supervision will help you to meet this need.

The clinical stream is designed for experienced counselling and psychotherapy clinicians who wish to develop their supervision ability and practice.
The pastoral stream is for experienced clergy, pastors, chaplains, and ministry workers who are supervising church workers in pastoral settings.

STUDY MODE

The course is comprised of two streams — pastoral and clinical. Each stream is made up of 4 core units, plus 2 electives per stream. The stream completed is determined by the relevant background of the applicant.

This graduate certificate emphasises face-to-face practical sessions for role play and simulated supervision experiences. This course includes emphasis on group sharing and discussion as a form of assessment. It also requires learners to contract with a supervisee for six sessions of supervision.

DURATION

The course is part time, conducted over one year. It will be delivered at St Francis College Milton and is made up of 8 days of intensive classroom training, online and work-based practice and input.
