Financial Support for Theological Students
St Francis’ College is committed to supporting students on their journey toward ordained ministry and theological education. While a range of financial assistance options may be available, the Kempthorne Bequest and the Ivor Church Bursary are currently the only programs that can be applied for online. These funds reflect the generosity and vision of individuals who believed deeply in the value of ministry and formation, and they continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
Kempthorne Bequest
The Kempthorne Bequest was established through the generosity of the late John Knowles Kempthorne, a devoted member of the Cathedral congregation with a deep commitment to faith and ministry. His legacy supports theological students at St Francis’ College by providing financial assistance for their formation and training toward ordained ministry. The bequest is administered by a dedicated board and continues to make a lasting impact on future clergy
The Ivor Frederick Church Bursary
Established through the will of the late Rev’d Canon Ivor Frederick Church, this bursary supports postgraduate theological study for alumni of St Francis’ College. It offers funding for research degrees, minor thesis work, and select overseas study opportunities, encouraging academic excellence and leadership in theological education.
